
Michigan, the eighth most populated state in the U.S. and home to the amazingly beautiful Great Lakes, is the perfect place for anyone to embark on a new career in real estate. You should know that the State of Michigan’s real estate commission, not to mention every other state commission in the United States, does require every agent to hold a valid license before having the legal ability to conduct a market transaction within Michigan. However, you will be happy to know that there are tens of thousands of licensed agents that are already making an incredible living by selling homes in Michigan. It is not to late, you can get started in this great career by working hard, being dedicated, committed and determined to succeed in your future, and of course by following the simple licensing requirements below to get your Michigan salesperson license.
Michigan Licensing Requirements:
1. All applicants are required to have a minimum of 40 hours of classroom instruction. The instruction must be in the fundamentals of real estate, and 4 of those 40 hours should cover civil rights law and equal opportunity housing.
2. Of course, it should go without saying that all applicants will need to be a minimum of 18 years of age at the time of application.
3. All applicants must now apply for their license through the State on their website, before taking the state exam.
4. All applicants will be required to have a sponsoring broker before being allowed to take their exam at the state testing center.
5. Applicants must of course pass their written exam before being issued a new license.
6. Once licensed, all agents will need to meet the continuing education requirements as provided by the state of Michigan.

Well, that’s all there is to the Michigan licensing requirements. Most people are unaware that obtaining a real estate license is much, much easier than you may think. Most people can get their license in a relatively short amount of time and with little out of pocket expenses. You might also consider speaking with local agencies, some may pay for your licensing in exchange for employment with them.
