Is Becoming a Realtor Enough?
How well do realtor's get paid?
Is it enough to feed a family, keep a medium size house, and send the children to public school + all the other stuff like taxes and gas you have to pay for?
I was planning on being a Realtor when I grow up.

The hardest part of being a Realtor is selling yourself. If you feel you cant sell a complete stranger on the fact that you are educated and competent enough to help facilitate a stress free transaction maybe this is not for you.
You really have to either have a large stash of cash set aside for start-up when you have a bad month or you have to have a profitable nitch with a great mentor like I do myself. We work Bankrupt houses and I work for my father in law.
Really the first thing you can do to help yourself is pay off all your debt. If you come into a job like this with a lot of debt you are dependent on a good month every month. Im going to let you in on a little secret; you are going to have a bad month, maybe more than one. So a good stash or no debt is certainly a head start.
After becoming a realtor, you need to attract clients, sell houses, find sellers to list their houses with you, etc. It's a lot of work and more difficult than people think.
